Excessive oil temperature in the torque converter of a loader forklift can be indicative of underlying issues. To eliminate this problem, it is important to identify and address the root causes. Here are some reasons for high oil temperature and corresponding elimination methods:
Incorrect Oil Level: Check the oil level of the hydraulic transmission and adjust it to the specified level. If the oil level is too low, add hydraulic transmission oil. If it is too high, drain the excess oil. Maintaining the correct oil level ensures proper lubrication and cooling of the torque converter.
Damaged Transmission Pump or Low Pressure: A damaged transmission pump or low pressure from the transmission control valve can cause the transmission clutch to slip, generating excessive heat in the torque converter. If the variable speed pump is damaged, it should be replaced. Inspect the pressure of the transmission control valve and adjust it to the specified value if it is low.
Deteriorated Hydraulic Transmission Oil: Over time, hydraulic transmission oil can degrade, leading to reduced performance and increased oil temperature. Replace the old or degraded oil with fresh hydraulic transmission oil according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Regular oil changes help maintain optimal performance and temperature control.
Heavy Load and Prolonged Operation: If the loader is continuously operating under heavy load conditions for extended periods, it can result in elevated oil temperature. Monitor the torque converter oil temperature gauge closely during such operations. If the temperature exceeds the recommended limit, reduce the load or stop the loader temporarily to allow the torque converter to cool down.
By addressing these factors, you can effectively eliminate high oil temperature in the torque converter of your loader forklift. Regular maintenance, including monitoring oil levels, inspecting pump performance, and replacing oil when necessary, is vital to ensure the longevity and efficiency of the torque converter. Additionally, practicing safe operating procedures and avoiding prolonged heavy-load operations can help prevent excessive heat buildup.
